What is the best lenses to use for a Wedding Photographer In Singapore? In my last post I talk about the Canon 24-70mm lens. What happens if you need to get a close up shot ? In this case you may have to consider a telephoto lens.
One of the best telephoto lens will be the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens
This is how Canon describes this lens
“ The all-new EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM increases the speed, performance and optical quality of the EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM while maintaining all of the characteristics that have made it a legend for professionals and advanced amateurs alike. The EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM features one fluorite and five UD elements for increased optical quality and reduced chromatic aberration. It has a minimum focusing distance of 1.2m/3.9 ft. at all zoom settings, which is useful for photographers in smaller spaces trying to get closer to a subject. It features a next-generation Optical Image Stabilizer, providing up to 4 stops of correction at all focal lengths. And as with all L-series lenses, the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is dust- and moisture-resistant and designed for use in the challenging environments typical of rigorous professional use.”

Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Autofocus Lens
What is the best lenses to use for a Wedding Photographer? In Singapore, a wedding videographer usually shoots alone or at most in a team of 2. Due to that, it is important that that important shots and angles are covered. In terms of quality, a fast lens of a big aperture will allows the wedding videographer to capture in low light and yet produce high quality footage with good colors.
The Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L is a suitable lens for Canon 5D Mark 2 users since it is a full frame camera. Of course do not use the zoom during a capturing. Instead stop the recording and zoom in before starting the recording again.

Bali is pretty convenient place to Singaporeans to visit. Just one hour flight from Changi Airport and quite a few selection of airlines to fly with. I visited Bali last year with my family and really enjoyed the trip. I chose a villa that is from the tourist areas and it turned out to be a wise decision. The villa has it own charm with excellent staff around to service you.
I do hope in the dear future I will be able to go with couples to Bali to capture their pre wedding or wedding ceremony. Or if you and your other half are going there soon and is looking for videographer, drop us an email and let see if we could work out something for you.
Would you like to enact your love story with you other half in a short film format?
It could be used a pre wedding teaser or as a short film to be shown during the wedding reception or dinner. You could use the short film to share :
We are currently looking for soon to be wed couples to be involved in our pre wedding film making process. Tell us your story and we will in turn be your storytellers.
A special package will be worked out for you. So drop us an email at weddings (at) quizkfilms.com

Triopo LED light. Picture taken from the China Manufacturer site
Recently, I bought the Triopo LED light to add on to my DSLR filmmaking gear. This model has 160 LEDs built into the plastic chasis and is powered by 6 AA size batteries. I like the dimmer knob that allows the light power output to be adjusted based on your need.
The color temperature of the light is 5500k but I usually just set my camera to Auto White Balance (AWB) to let it take of the color temperature.
It came with a flimsy swivel mount that you can mount it to the camera hotshoe or some other articulating arm mount. If you look at the photo on the right, you find that there is a slot at the top centre. This slot allows you to stack another light on top of it by using a small joint.
Overall the feel of this light is too plasticy but at S$95 I cannot complaint too much. If you have any other recommendations for LED lights, please let me know by putting a comment here.
Thanks for reading.
